Certification

 

Certification is the documentation process by assesment of the compliance with the regulatory of processing unit, product or input with the result of application of the control methods that determined by the organic farming standards. A product to be labeled and consider as organic; it must comply with regulations that include rules for the organic agriculture which is determined by national and international authorities. To achieve this;  operators must be inspected by control and certification body such as Ecocert which is accredited by National Standardization Organization and authorized by national and international authorities.

Certification is a voluntary process. Any entity conducting a business for which a standard exists may ask to have its products or services certified by a certification body, such as Ecocert. Certification is awarded for a specified time period, during which the certifying body carries out monitoring. To award certification, the certifying body must itself be accredited.
